old soul

whenever i see the interior work of darryl carter, i take a moment of silence and let my inner joy get the party started.

to me, his practical sensibility is just right. he could take it up a notch and layer in more modern or take it down a notch for a more primitive minimal.

he lets his 19th century cottage be just what it was intended to be....well done.

photo's from elle decor

  1. that first image took my breath away just a little. is that second shot a kitchen? I have always wanted a kitchen that didn't look like one...

  2. hi daryl- how are you. it has been a while.
i couldn't put it better "serene rusticity". i might have to use that as a title and give you props..

perfect gray - like i said before, we should move in together. we are 2 peas in a pod. i know...the first image is shockingly clear and perfectly simple. i wonder if you start to rust after using that tub. ;o)
the second shot is a kitchen. you can see the sink and dishwasher. i never thought of it like you do, a kitchen that didnt look like a kitchen. i get it and agree.

  3. oh, goodness - I was so fixated on the super cool dutch door that I completely missed the dishwasher and fridge in the lower photo....

I don't know about that tub, though. All I could think about were the heavy metal free radicals....I think I would have to have it reglazed...
